Hell No! The deal is I am thinking of moving here. So no per diem, but no Louisiana state tax.
I think I'm better off getting the per diem if I don't have to pay taxes on it and just keeping two residences.

Per Diem is inherently shady. Its a way around workers comp premium. And when you get injured on the job and your W2 says 50K but pay plus per diem = 100K. Well your going to claim your earnings are 100k. If you move to claim future earnings in a suit by claiming the per diem, you just committed tax fraud if you had not claimed it as income in prior years
