Will he really play linebacker at LSU? Was he recruited to play another position?

Yeah, he's fast enough to play safety, but I see him at OLB.

Our depth at LB is unreal. Imagine if we get Clifton..

I can't see him playing safety with all the DBs we got coming in

My reasoning , as well...Its not that he can't, and If Hootie slides down, hmmmm maybe, but I just see him at OLB with the guys(and their builds) coming in.

He weighs in at 205lb right? So how big will he be at LB when he plays?

Chief loves his outside LB's light and fast, he converts safeties and puts them in there where they can cover lots of space and pick up tight ends and backs on receiving routes. Of course he could never get away with that at most schools, but with the D Linemen LSU recruits it all seems to work out pretty well in the end.

I think both Donnie and Hootie could be hybrid LB/S and just confuse the frick out of qbs and protection schemes

He already looks bigger than Debo and Tahj Jones. If he gains weight easier than them he should stay at LB.

Especially since we're only taking 3 in this class and that gives him one of the OLB spots. So it works out well for him.

Does no one think we should be getting more size at LB? Especially in the middle?

Alexander can ball. Underrated player in this class.

This is why Garrett is a priority. And I think Kenny Young can be a 6-1 1/2, 235-pound MLB in college. Get those two and they'll be fine.

Not saying he isn't a baller, I'm just looking at the size of linebackers being recruited by Georgia, Bama etc and wondering shouldn't we have more size at MLB at least? Why keep recruiting LB's that are smaller than the RB's they have to stop?

SAM...in the harry coleman mold. DA has a knack coming off the edge, speed to burn, and can cover. Chavis wants to leave his SAMs on the field but hasnt been able to since coleman. And TM was too good to not put on the field.

Two completely different schemes. LSU vs. bama and UGA that is.

Georgia and Alabama both run 3-4's so the LB's they recruit are different than the ones Chavis likes in his 4-3 cover 2.
Garrett is our man in the middle, and we also have Melvin jones from last year. both are big guys.
