Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Rangers are involved in trade talks for the Astros' Bud Norris.

The Rangers are currently engaged in talks for Cubs' right-hander Matt Garza, but they could turn to Norris if a satisfactory deal isn't reached. Passan hears that the Pirates, Dodgers, Jays, and Giants are among the other teams interested in Norris

Norris is a #5 on a world series team. Can't imagine a contender giving up much for him. He's good for the Astros.

a number 5. His ERA hovers between 3 and 4. Thats worlds better than a #5

Just get picks and I'm okay with this. Astros get younger, cost less, play worse, higher picks, compensation, 4 years later.....DY-frickin-NASTY.

3.63 ERA is 16th in the AL. Sure his WHIP at 1.41 isn't spectacular, but hardly a 5th guy on any team. Hell just based on his ERA he's the #3 guy for the Tigers and Rangers.

ETA: and I know it may not matter that much, but let's also bring into account the sub-par managing decisions of bringing the pen in too early and the earned runs there being accounted to Norris as well.

Won't happen. Believe the Rangers have landed Garza, though it hasn't been announce yet.

Yes. I'd like Profar as well.

You'll be surprised how good Bud can actually be with just a little bit of run support

at least that's what you bought into. the astros are already into year 4 of their "rebuilding" by the way. so i guess it's gonna be a 6 yr plan or maybe even the ole' 8 yr plan. personally, it looks like the ole kansas city royals rebuilding plan.
