This schedule is going to drive Saban nuts. He is going to be going crazy trying to keep his team motivated all season. He's going to have some pissed off interviews this yr.

i really hope bama gets cocky and loses a game or two, but even if they do, i can't seem them still getting left out the sec championship or the bcs title game, and we all know the sec team will win it all.

The schedule is "unique" to Alabama because it is made in Alabama by Alabama's for Alabama.

All the other SEC Athletic Directors get together and stop this Alabama bios.

rotate the SEC office every 3 years to each SEC school

I loved his quotes about how many times LSU/Auburn has played Florida and Georgia since 2000

LSU-17 x's

Auburn 19 x's

He states "There's got to be a problem with that scheduling...don't ya think?" "Just a hutch"

And then he grins

Except Auburn doesn't complain about it. They love playing Georgia every year. The only thing they actually complain about is not getting to play Florida every year anymore too like they used to.

I feel gross now for taking up for Auburn.

Auburn doesn't complain because UGA is one of their "tradition" games.

Which is part of the problem.

No, an actual Gump graduate does, from the comfort of his crimson appointed office in Birmingham. But...there's no bias, just like the officiating is always on the up and up.

There are problems with SEC Scheduling. In college football there has always been a debate about schedules and championships.

But everyone has to settle down. This will work out. Before long there will no longer be the traditional rivalry and permanent cross rival opponent BS. And the Non conference schedules will have to get tougher.

The SEC will have to go to the NFL model. The main reason is TV money. Do you think ESPN, CBS are going to pay billions for BS games that couldn’t make on Jefferson Pilot back in the day.

As this board has noted footbaall is cyclical.

The SEC will have to take a look at the strength of each team each year and adjust the schedule accordingly for cross division teams. ESPN is not going to pay to see BAMA or LSU play Mou. Likewise they don’t want Fla and Ga playing Miss State.

After the SEC Network kicks in, you will have to have 3 prime games a week. Try to find 3 games from the following weeks from this year’s schedule.

11/23 (Second to Last weekend of Season)

Florida v Ga Southern
Ga v UK
Mou v Ole Miss (Is it worth the Money)
USCe v Central Carolina
Tenn v Vandy
Bama v Chattanooga
Ark v Miss State (Is it worth the Money)
Auburn Bye
LSU v TA&M (One)

10/26 (Would you pay for this)

UK v Miss State (Maybe)
Mou v USCe
Tenn v Bama (The rivalry is the only worthy game)
Vandy v TAM
Aurbun v Fla Atlantic
LSU v Fruman
Ole Miss v Idaho
Fla Bye
Ga Bye
Ark Bye

9/21 (Try to find a worthy game from this schedule. Maybe Vandy v Umass & Rutgers because of Rutgers and Umass TV markets. But if not an SEC home game no TV rights)

Fla v Tenn
Ga v North Texas
Mou v Indiana
Vandy v Umass
Bama v Colo State
Ark v Rutgers
Auburn v LSU (Best SEC Match up)
Miss State v Troy
TAM v SMU

UK Bye
USCe Bye
Ole Miss Bye

You guys have played uga and uf 19 times. and went undefeated twice. Lil nicky cant say the same. Its actually sickening to me.

The two teams that made the seccg didnt play one top 3 team from the other division. hmmmmmmmmmm

A&M has a pretty weak schedule against the East this year. SEC offices really looking out for the traditional SEC powers.

Damn, dude, that is weak!

Let me translate that for you.

I don't have a problem with our schedule. I don't care if we play 1-11 in the poll. It's the bullshite schedules of other teams that get to me. We get shite every year because of our tough schedule so we are rankled lower and projected to lose 3 or 4 games. Bama will play 2 ranked opponents and is predicted to go to the BCS MNCG and they are ranked #1 in all ore-season polls. Bama lost just as many players as we did and 3 of their best linemen but they are expected to not miss a beat. Why? Because their hardest games all year are against LSU and AtM.

I know some will argue just win your games and nothing else matters but as said in another thread, playing 6 or 7 ranked teams will take it's toll on your team physically and emotionally. We are even predicted to loose to OM mainly because of the schedule.

Yes, all of that, but I look at it from another angle, too.

More of a players perspective.

The point of all this is determine a champion. It is impossible to create a fair and equitable schedule for 120+ teams playing 12 games. But, you would think a conference that has won 7 straight BCSNC's could at least get their schedule in order, so that its representative was the most worthy.

Yet, LSU can win every game, go into Tuscaloosa and win, play an extra game against the best team in the East, just for the right to play Alabama again? Can you imagine playing someone in tennis at deuce, win the first point, yet they win the game by winning the second point?

College football, and this conference specifically, are calling into question the integrity of the sport, and the whole purpose of competition in general.

I agree. Saban's statement the only way is if everyone played everyone is BS.

This was going on before the SEC was recognized as the best conference in football. The SEC would have a 1 loss team not be voted Nat Champions because Penn State went undefeated with a weak schedule.

Also contrary to what Saban said in the NFL you play your division and everyone in your division is matched against the same teams from another divisions that rotates each year.

The schedules are pretty even.
