HR Derby ratings higher than any NBA playoff game on ESPN

LINK

And the All Star game outdrew any non title playoff game.

Silly exhibition games in a dying sport outdrawing meaningful games. Crazy.

Meh. Everyone knows the MLB All Star game is the only all star game in major sports that counts. and the Homerun Derby is always fun to watch.

I actually did fall asleep after Prince hit and woke up at the end of the second round.

There are numerous playoff games.

And ESPN aired a conference finals that featured two of the smallest markets in the league.

Apples to apples, the MLB playoffs last year would have also been dwarfed by the All Star game ratings.

All the numbers really show is that the MLB improved their numbers for the mid summer classic. The comparison to NBA ratings was probably written for the same reason I posted it. It's the NBA fans that like to try to call the time of death on baseball.

Unfortunately, baseball is doing well and isn't going anywhere. If you're going to look down your nose at MLB, make sure a long ball contest doesn't outdraw your playoffs.

I'm probably the only person in the world who prefers both the NBA and MLB to the NFL. I follow both, though probably baseball more closely. You can make an argument that either is No. 2 to the NFL.

Baseball isn't dying. NBA Finals ratings have been significantly higher in recent years than World Series ratings, which is what people like to harp on, but that's explained by the fact that LeBron's Heat or the Lakers have been involved every year since 2008. Meanwhile teams like the Rangers, Cards, Tigers and Giants have been in the Series over the Yankees, Sox and Dodgers. It's cyclical.

Except for the Saints I don't follow NFL that close either. I prefer MLB and college football.

But the nba has about 14 rounds of playoffs where every team but the Hornets seems to make it and the playoffs last like two months. It's practically a whole new mini season so it's no wonder interest wanes.

Nope

I like CFB, NBA, MLB, and college baseball better than NFL.

What are the NBA finals ratings vs the World Series??

All this proves is there are a ton of losers who watch glorified batting practice while oooohh-ing and aawwwww-ing. Must suck to be so pathetic....

I'd probably go Football (CFB/NFL), MLB, NHL.

I do love college basketball though, just moreso around March Madness like most.
