Anything by Nash Buckingham. De Shootinest Gent'man is a must read for all duck hunters.

I do non-fiction mostly Econ/Investing/Social Sciences type stuff...

Recently did "Freakonomics" and "Super Freakonomics". Both were pretty interesting and thought provoking. Among the more controversial of their claims is that the national crime rate drop seen in the 90's was a byproduct of Roe vs. Wade and not better policework, more prisons or strictly enforced laws.

Doing "The Tipping Point" now, also very good.

Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn, may he RIP.
Scarecrow series by Matthew Reiley.

Both solid series, will take you a while to read them all, about 20ish books total.

Some of the best hunting in africa / just really damn good reads ever. Gets into the Mau Mau uprisings. Grisly shite.

Robert Ruark
Something of Value (1955)
The Old Man and the Boy (1957)
Poor No More (1959)
Uhuru (1962)

The only set of books I've ever read three times, described by the NYT as the best historical fiction ever written and Chicago Tribune as the best novelist in the world. And I'll be reading them a few more times before I die I hope.

Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey / Maturin series.
Master and Commander (1969)
Post Captain (1972)
HMS Surprise (1973)
The Mauritius Command (1977)
Desolation Island (1978)
The Fortune of War (1979)
The Surgeon's Mate (1980)
The Ionian Mission (1981)
Treason's Harbour (1983)
The Far Side of the World (1984)
The Reverse of the Medal (1986)
The Letter of Marque (1988)
The Thirteen-Gun Salute (1989)
The Nutmeg of Consolation (1991)
Clarissa Oakes (1992)
(published as The Truelove in the USA)
The Wine-Dark Sea (1993)
The Commodore (1994)
The Yellow Admiral (1996)
The Hundred Days (1998)
Blue at the Mizzen (1999)

Excellent book about a SEAL from Arkansas. He had quite an interesting and trying life leading up to the SEALs. One of the best books I've read.

Ruark is great...

Of a similar theme, I actually liked Capstick better...
