I bought 4K of SLV a few minutes ago @ $18.61.

*For the uninitiated the subject title is what the original TV Lone Ranger would yell as he encouraged his faithful steed, Silver, to make tracks.

It's so tempting. I already have about 3k in silver right now and a little less in gold. I'm seriously considering selling the gold for silver.

I forgot about the current movie version....that has apparently bombed at the box office.

How what?

The low trade for the day thus far is $18.61, which occurred about 5 minutes after I bought at $18.66. So, the lowest purchase trade was probably at $18.62.

ETA: You need to check your pricing service because the high trade for the day so far is $19.44. So the $19.69 you saw was an error somehow.

Maybe he was thinking of SIVR or the bullion price.

That makes sense.

-15.087% on JPM in May of last year. I bought some JPM three days before the London Whale debacle was announced. If you recall, the stock dropped approximately 10% on the day the announcement was made.

I kept hoping it would bounce back but it kept falling as the Whale's losses kept growing. It finally bottomed down about 20% from its pre announcement price but I had sold a few days earlier.

The sad part is if I had just had the 'nads to hold on until now, I'd have an almost 30% gain on my cost basis + about 4% in dividends.

How much of your money is liquid to trade? It would be amazing to have that much $.

It's so annoying to be only being able to buy a tiny amount of shares.

Put in an order at $18.65 before lunch and it hasn't hit yet. Hope I didn't miss it by a penny. We'll see. Just dipped under $18.66 again.

Boom, I'm in. Hi, Ho. We shall see.

About four years ago another poster asked me that question and I answered it. The result was several posters called me a liar and several posters accused me of bragging or trying to show off a 'big dick'.....blah, blah, blah.

So, I won't answer your question specifically in order to avoid that situation again. Sorry.

But I will say my minimum trade is 1,000 shares except if I'm trading AAPL, GOOG or BRK-A, for which my minimum is considerably lower.

I consider about 2/5 of my total broker portfolio as my trading book and the other 3/5 is off limits for frequent trading.

I sold my position at $18.83 and made .87% net of commission. If it hits its daily low of $18.61 again, I'm buying back in.

If I believe you that you have a huge portfolio (why shouldn't I?), then why would I believe you would make that move for just $350? I'm assuming you put in the 4k you mentioned earlier. Do you normally go for those small amounts? Not judging; to each his own.

Look after the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.

Is that a weight-loss strategy?
