Anyone who doesn't think this guy is special doesn't know what they're looking at. He is extremely fast and physical as hell. Once he gets coached up he will be fantastic at corner. He looks like a bigger more physical Mo Claiborne.

He may want to be an officer in the Air Force. That is certainly something that LSU can't offer.

the egg's older brother, daddy98 gave his pro scouting report on Ramirez:

quote:

tall, slender, rangy. Needs to fill out and gain weight. not real physical but does cover ground..

Real fast kid. When playing cb he's stiff but has recovery speed. Not really a press guy and not a back pedal guy but has good feet for a 6'2 kid.

still, I am a bit surprized they are going after him.. He's fast but I wouldn't call him a great db.

So apparently, he whiffed. The one consistent aspect was that he was surprisingly physical for his build.

hate hudl, videos are so half-arse

But it's better than nothing and nothing is what at least a third of the Louisiana kids had before the end of their senior season as recently as two years ago. HUDL is a godsend for a kid who doesn't have a coach, a parent or someone else who's pushing him through this process.

HUDL ran really slow on my old Toshiba using the newest available version of Mozilla Firefox for Windows XP.

Runs great on this new laptop that has a Core 5 Pentium processor using Windows Explorer.

My computer sounds like a turbine engine whenever I open that site.

Thanks for the name {Hennings} and obviously that is who I was trying to think of. Don't think the guy lasted long in the NFL but probably got a late start. Of course the better example, from the Navy and with the Cowboys, was Roger Staubach.

Obviously, he would know more than anyone if he attended camps. I made the mistake of trusting Scouts.com list where the only camp they had checked was LSU. To be fair, Houston wasn't even on his interest list so maybe that prevented the "check mark" from being posted.

I brought up Claiborne myself as a HOPEFUL comparison in recruiting. The difference is when Claiborne finally got video out there, I SAW what the coaches saw. Fair Park was a NOTHING football school...missed the playoffs 15 straight years. He played QB and literally carried that team into the playoffs playing QB. Ramirez doesn't strike me the same way that Claiborne does. I trust the coaches to a large degree but I don't think we want to start listing the obscure players they have missed on. A lot more obscure ones they have missed on that they have hit on. They hit on Claiborne...they hit on Mathieu...missed on many more than that.

Yeah, you are right RollTigers, these bums we call coaches don't know anything about football or what it takes to play the game. How did LSU get stuck with a bunch of dudes who don't know what they're doing?

He was in the league for more than just a few years. He also has some superbowl hardware. And not to mention an A-10 Warthog pilot in Gulf War

Yeah, they are perfect. Oh, and funny you bring up coaches expertise. I assume you MEAN ALL coaches at major schools right? So, in other words, the fact that ONLY LSU, Air Force, S Miss, and Memphis have offered Ramirez would say that only those coaches know squat right? I trust LSU coaches to a LARGE degree and do a great job of talent evaluation but these guys signed with LSU and did squat (just in the last very few years).

J Wright, J Johns, J Fobbs, S Gibson, A Williams, etc.

Also, from the evaluation by 24/7 that is posted on another thread, it mentioned Ramirez did well except against Noil and Dupre, etc. Uh, one little problem, doing well against a lot of guys at the camp ain't going to cut it. Why? Because of lot of those guys are NOT going to get offers to play anywhere above ULL or Toolame.

so, I guess the proper thing to do is do a coaching search to find the right guys to lead LSU, based upon their expertise in locating and coaching athletes, pay them a shite load of money to do same, then wait on what others say about these athletes before we offer them? Is that the gist?
