Yea I think Dex is going to start looking into her patients and realizing that they're all still killers

I'm glad to see Quinn playing a meaningful role. However he seems to have completely forgotten Robocop's blood on his shoe being covered up by Dex?

No. It's in his eyes. He believes Deb killed LaGuerta, he believes Dex is a crazed killer....

But the aspect of Doc made it all weird...as in something he'd rather believe but know isn't true.

Someone can explain how they're saying Estrada's gun killed LaGuarda when Deb shot her with her own gun? They never showed anyone switching guns or anything so is it to just be assumed?

Also, wtf with not even showing Dex kill that dude? They are skimping on what we've all come to love about the show

So I'm thinking Dex turns himself in and takes the fall for Deb killing LaGuerta. That will be his one act of selfless love.

Not sure if it's been speculated on before, but does anyone think that she and Harry missed the boat with Dexter and misdiagnosed him as a psychopath? She keeps being surprised when he shows emotion, and has started to go as far as trying to tell him his emotions aren't real.

Funny thing, is that the Dexter in the first book and the Dexter that has evolved in the show are two different animals. In the book, he really WAS empty. He described wearing Rita as a disguise. He "cared" for Deb, but only in so far as she was a tong term relationship for him. In the show, and maybe it's just Michael C. Hall's take, he really has shown true emotions for others, whether it was Rita's kids, Harrison, Deb, Lumen, Hannah, etc.

In the end, I think it's going to become apparent to Dexter that he was never what they told him he was. Not sure if the doc did it to him on purpose (to see if she could create serial killers) or accidentally. Like the way he jettisoned the whole "dark passenger" bit a season or so ago, he's going to have to come to grips with the fact that they turned him into a serial killer. When he does, he'll do the noble thing and take his own life...after offing the doc of course.

All guesses, but I think that's where we're going.

Haven't read any of the books, but I thought after Season 2 that Harry had misled Dexter to some extent in order to shape him into the kind of vigilante that he himself couldn't be.

My current wild-assed speculation is that the doctor is a psychopath who's been manipulating people into acting out her visions.

It appears the Doc is training an army of serial killers. Rather then treat them, she is teaching them to live out their lives murdering while casting the appearance of being normal. All because she is fascinated with them. She manipulated Harry into doing the same to Dexter. She will be the last one on Dexter's table. He will then turn himself in and take the blame for Deb.

I hate her so much. Here ugly mouth and unnecessary curse words all the time.

I want her to die so bad. I feel like if she dies, everyone in my neighborhood will walk out their front door screaming in celebration.

Without spoilers (if you can help it) how did this one stack up? Another good one for the season? Move the story? Oh shite moments? Meh?

I have found this season mediocre, especially coming off last season. If this is the final season they need to get this shite going. I have a hard time believing he would be opening up to this Dr as well.

Just finished. Very pleased, another good one. I think it's safe to say after 3 episodes that this season is right back on track with the Dexter we all used to know. Obviously too early to say if it's as good as the early stuff, but it's damn sure better than 5 and 6 I think.

That's what I've figured. The main story line throughout the series has been Dexter trying to figure himself out and evolving. I think in the end he figures out that he was misled and basically created by Harry, Vogel, and who knows maybe even Captain Matthew. I think there's a reason he has had a prominent role over the last season and start of this one.

When Vogel calls him perfect I think she is referring to the fact that he truly isn't a monster/psychopath/etc. and doesn't have the uncontrollable urge that a real one would have. If he would, he'd be behind bars. His real emotions create a cover better than any fake one.

Maybe she killed their father?

This is really wild stuff, but fun.

This is my favorite beginning to a season that I remember. I think it has moved the Dexter character farther than any other 3 episodes. I think this season is more about Dexter as a person/killer than him stalking the main baddy of the season. The whole backstory of Harry/Vogel is pretty interesting in my opinion and giving some light to how he was brought up.

Yeah, that was odd to me too. They didn't even show how he got to him. That is super rare. They got a lot of drama to fill in this season, but I want to see these scenes too.
