I'm now partial to Garcia's on 190 in Covington. They have excellent complimentary chips, bean dip, and salsa. The quest is very good as well. They have a steak fajita wrap that is outstanding, IMO. It has a special sauce on it that compliments the wrap exceptionally well. This is all I've ever eaten there in about 10 trips.

Taqueria La Noria on highway 59 in Mandeville for authentic Mexican. El Pastor, Lengua, and Menudo are featured menu items. They also sell the creppy tex-mex that gringos expect. Tacos are served on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro. Everyplace else on the Northshore is crappy tex mex.

Owner is an ENORMOUS douche. I havent been since he took it over, but I've heard it hasn't been the same.

I know it wasn't an option, biut La Carreta has my favorite Mexican Dish on the Northshore. I like the family atmosphere at George's (with George's wife drinking her wine at the hostess stand), but I think Garcia's might be a bit better.

Taqueria La Noria is hit or miss. It's been great for me on one visit, then average the next.

I shall have to try George's, it HAS to be better than la Carreta and I HAVE to have my Mexican food occasionally.
