Question about sales tax for new vehicle purchased in Louisiana

Is the rate taxed on the total purchase price of the vehicle or the difference between the purchase price and the trade in?
also, based on this site: LINK if I live in Alexandria, my total tax rate for the truck is 9%, correct?
