Question about purchasing Boat Trailer

Should I only purchase something with a title if I want to be able to get it registered? I see plenty for sale with only a bill of sale, but I'm not sure if I'd ever be able to get a tag for that.

I was able to, i bought a boat and trailer from TX and from what i remember TX does not title their trailers, therefore when I bought it back to La. they just issued me a new title. Make sure your bill of sale lists the trailers vin # and also amount of purchase price for the trailer. Good Luck.
