Im starting to get into this show on netflix. Im only four episodes in but i cant tell if im going to stay with the series. It is almost painful to watch ramsay be an a-hole but i guess that is part of the draw.

On another note, these restraunts are disgusting. I love mom and pop places to eat but this show is making me paranoid. How do i know the food isnt going to poison me when I eat out.

Do any of you work at non chain restraunts? If so, how do they compare with some of these places?

Uhm . . . Worked in several different cooking environments; most of us are fortunate to have strong Immune Systems.

Watch the BBC version. It's awesome and actually shot like a documentary.

The American version sucks just like most of our reality television.

I like Kitchen Nightmares, but there's a kind of sameness to it. It really only works when he goes into a place that is totally fricked up with insane owners.
The BBC series is better than the American version. There was one episode where he went to a restaurant that was launched by an award-winning young chef who was putting out food that was too fancy and expensive for the locals. Ramsey got him to pull back and be more guest friendly. It was a nice twist, because they usually go to places that are totally hopeless. I would like to see him try that for the American version.
Gordon Ramsey is a billion times better than that dickhead Robert Irvine.

I have it on good authority that most of the "Problems" are staged. That came from a good source when he filmed in NOLA. Not to say that some of it isn't real, but a good bit of it is hype for the drama

British version is superb.

American version is loud, confrontational, and obnoxious.
