North EZ Score Board Expansion? Pic Inside

Does anyone know what they are doing to the North EZ score board?
My guess is putting speakers in and the addition can be ad space, thus freeing up more of the screen.

Adding more space to display all of the points we will score each game this year with Cam calling the plays!

I know they are adding a bunch of LED's on that side, including the scoreboard. Not sure if that is what they are doing there.

They should just make the score board wrap around the North side

They are putting in a new sound system.

Since south stadium scoreboard will not be available and that's where the sound was they had to upgrade north one.
Eventually there will be two video screens in corner of the south side
I just hope it doesn't drown out the band now

Shouldn't drown out the band. They very rarely, if ever play at the same time.
Anyways, it's fantastic news that we're actually upgrading the speakers. They were REALLY bad before to the point where really anything will be better.

I don't have a problem with flashing ads during breaks and time outs, but I don't want all that tacky permanent advertising on the boards. If enough people would complain, it would have an effect.

You do realize the ads are currently still in the same place on the board relative to their old positions before the wide screen was added, right?
LSU most likely had signed contracts with those sponsors with criteria about placement, size, etc. Removing the ads prior to the contract coming to term would likely result in a nice big fine/lawsuit.

This. Though, I've heard this contract has either just ended this past season or will end after next season.

Have you seen anything that would lead you to believe that the AD has suddenly developed a case of the smarts and thus is unlikely to repeat old stupid behavior?

Remember how awesome the first game with the new screen was? A) time outs left wasn't listed, b) every replay had a little picture in picture as on the replay and c) same today, replays take up less than 50% of the actual screen surface.
