His four-year, $44 million deal is overpriced based on his current accomplishments, but the timing was right for New Orleans to add one more dynamic wing into its mix and complete the makeover. After going just 27-55 last season and dealing with the nonstop questions about whether shooting guard Eric Gordon was happy to be in New Orleans, the Pelicans' young and promising core is more than enough to quiet that noise. Gordon will now star with point guard Jrue Holiday (via draft night trade from Philadelphia), Evans and former No. 1 pick Anthony Davis as part of a roster that is vastly improved.
