Oddly enough I was considering this too, but after some searches on interweb, seems like there are some negative reviews. Sure if you look there will always be negative reviews no matter the item, but with Pt111 seem more than I was comfortable with. They are cheap though (inexpensive)

If you're on a budget, the cheapest high quality brand is Ruger. SR9 is a great gun.

I bought one a few years back, probably around 2005 or so.
POS is an understatement. FTF and stovepipe like I've never seen.

So full of shite.

The PT 24/7 is used by several agencies across US although not as commonly as the block, berreta, or HK.

I have put 1000 + rounds through mine and never once had a FTF, FTE, stovepipe, or other problem. It has been as reliable as a revolver ( pull trigger go bang).

I've heard of dodges keeping their paint and dash boards not cracking too.

I've seen several come thru my classes -- none made it thru 36 rounds without a malfunction.

Is it possible to buy one that's reliable ??

Sure.

But why take the chance, when there are so many reliable SD handguns available ?

Friends don't let friends own Tauri.

I will say the taurus take on 1911 has been a failure. It looms nice but has not been reliable. The 24/7 and millennium pro series has been well tested and well accepted by those doing the testing.
