Brand new at BPS for $499....

ETA: That paddle goes for about $60. If you are close and it is in good shape, you might pick it up and save a few bucks on tax.

Are you asking if this is a good deal? If so, I say it's an okay deal. Those sell new for $499. Not sure how much the paddle is worth. I'd offer 500.

That equates to 86" which is standard.

Not a good deal
Kayaks dont depreciate much but that kayak is about $150 too much IMO
but I guess its what any person will be willing to pay
There will be better deals

220 cm is too short. For the easy paddling and maneuvering that fishing requires longer is better. I use recently went from a 230 to a 240 and regret not having done it sooner.

Right now I have a 260cm. Going to drop to 240cm when I upgrade to a Bending Branches at some point.

How much difference does an expensive paddle make? I have the ascend paddle. I feel like it's not great quality, but how much better is something that's $150+?

Man I have a $25 aluminum Marine Raider paddle from Academy that gets me around just fine. Not in a rush to get a new one, but a step up would be fiberglass, then carbon fiber.

I think the higher end paddles are lighter, and dont have flex like the cheaper ones. BB Angler Classic/Ace is what I am looking at for about $120

I used a bending branch one time. it was nice b/c it's longer than mine, but to me it wasn't worth having when it costs what a good rod/reel combo costs

Truth. That is why I am not rushing to upgrade paddles yet. Need a few combos first...My wife is still trying to figure out why I need more than one combo

I can see where having a stiffer paddle would be a benefit for pushing off. I tend to want to use my paddle as a pushpole, but I would hate to break it. I guess that would leave me up the creek without a paddle.

But I just got a park it pole, so I should be good to go now.

Sorry for the hijack

Ask her why she needs more than one pair of shoes. She'll leave you alone after that.

if you are willing to spend $500, i would wait around for a better boat. Surely a Ride 135 or Manta Ray will pop up in Dallas, and you will be much happier with it. Alternatively, tell the dude he's asking retail, and offer $350.

My lovely SO picked up the carbon fiber 240cm paddle from werner for me. It's amazingly light and strong. Paddled 11 miles on Saturday without ever getting tired of the paddle itself. Very nice. Might not be the most necessary thing though unless you're worried about going for a long paddle though.

This one. It's nice.
