i know i know "breaking news" insert smart @$$ reply here. what i find interesting is we did swap models with another franchise and while some fans were butt hurt about not building through the draft with some crap shoot picks. i for one love the current model due to the fact that it most closey resembles the model of a team that has won numerous championships.

san antonio another obvious small market team built their current roster around a franchise changing 4. again while i would never say AD is tim you can see the similarities starting to build. again jrue and tyreke are not tony and manu but fill similar roles in their situaions. aminu is a hardnosed wing defender that doesnt need to score. i cant compare him directly to bruce bowen but again he fills that role. what SA taught the NBA is you dont need 3 superstars....you need a good core, a team that plays like a unit, a good coach, and a GM who makes more successful moves than bad ones.

we play good defense and night in night out we are competitive. that was for the past two years with a roster only better than that of the bobcats pretty much.

im not saying this is 1999...im saying that we have plenty to be excited about. the only part of the equation that im uncerain about is EG and RYNO. minutes obviously are the only concern with RYNO...salary and the need for 5 also loom out there...EG has salary and availability issues. is RYNO like a reggie bush? a fun overpriced gadget player? not meant to be a diss at all. the saints won it all with reggie...and teams in the NBA more often than not win with a good bench.

EG for his price tag, selfish outbursts, GP stat over the past two years, etc has destroyed his market value. i still want to root for him and see him do well here...but the thought of having a star player with consistent injuries reminds me too much of insert penny, grant hill, whomever else who never got right and held teams back.

what i am saying is unlike some tards on here no we are not playing in june next year. however we are on a path that "could" "over a few seasons" put us in that conversation. depending on the next moves we make or dont...EG AND RYNO.

With EG it could be as simple as having AR or Jackson turn out to be players in this league...along with improved trade value for EG. i dont think and im open to being proved wrong i dont think you can win with a fragile me first player no matter how talented..

Ryno its just the asking price...a substancial 3 or 5 upgrade along with a 4 prospect i think almost makes that deal impossible to pass up.

all in all i do share the enthusiasm and excitement...our franchises future has never been brighter top to bottom and i cant wait to see how this turns out.

I think the San Antonio model was always the model Demps was following. Fans were the ones who thought living in the lottery lead to the OKC promised land.

. I agree. He has the SA background and knows it works. OKC was a one in a mill type situation. Charlotte is the average OKC model. A pipe dream. The Saints lived in lottery picks for 30 plus years.
