Have you tested the boards?

Not yet. When I said here for those two boards I should have said I am waiting on them to come in from Asrock. I sent them some old boards with damaged pins and they are sending me replacements for $50 each. They don't fix what you send them but rather just send you a replacement and that's what I will have in here in about a week.

It was some boards I bought to practice changing out sockets to learn how to use my BGA machine. I went with Asrock for practice because of how easy their RMA process is. They will replace any board for you, even if you damage it, for a $50 fee.

Sometimes the replacements can be recertified or sometimes they can be brand new boards. Just depends on their inventory at the moment. The Extreme4s I got back from them are all good though so I assume it will be no issues with the other boards.

I may be interested in that OC Formula. It would go good with my case and would be a slight upgrade at worst from my Extreme6.

The OC Formula looks pretty bad arse too. I like how you can water cool it and integrate it into your custom loop.

Good price for me, you mind sending a pic of the box and/or the board and CPU.

Thanks Man

Indeed. That's what I would like to do. If you decide to shed it then for sure let me know.

What was your knock on it, just decided a better upgrade or not what you were looking for? I have friend with the same CPU/mobo and he loves it

I bought it around Christmas and then Microcenter had some ridiculous sale on an i7-3770k and the Z77 Extreme 6 for like $300. I just so happened to be there that day and picked up that combo

Yeah. The board was knocked down to like $150 or something and the CPU was $200 THEN if you bought them together it was another $40-50 off. Ended up being just under $330 or so with tax and all. Too good of a deal to pass up.

I ended up paying less for the 3770k and Extreme6 than I did for a 3570k and Extreme4

shite, i wish we had stores like that in New Orleans. The best we have is a best buy, and i only go in there to buy things when i do not feel like waiting.

What video card did you run with it, when you were using it?

Also, do you remeber what you were able to overclock the i5 to, and did you change any of the settings on the mobo? Just wondering because i already have an overclocking program in mind for it, and also just seeing if im going to have to reset if need be.

thanks

Don't remember settings. I didn't use it for long and just OCed long enough to run a few tests. I ran it stock most of the time.

I have a 3570k and extreme4. Mine is overclocked to 4.4ghz with a noctua nhd14. not too much added voltage to get there too. could probably go a little further but I am ok with things as they are now. I also have all the stuff to do a delid, just haven't taken the time to do so.
