Matthew Harris is probably right. Just like what was posted in the other Hill thread, the probation violation and the new simple battery charge are separate criminal matters. The simple battery charge is enough to revoke his probation and send him to jail irrespective of what happens with the simple battery charge.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

You don't really believe this is a problem only at LSU, do you? This is a problem at all major colleges with a winning record. Let's start with Florida......

Who gives a shite what happens at any other schools? As an LSU fan, I am ONLY concerned with LSU. It gives me no solace to know that LSU is like a lot of other schools in this regard.

It doesn't matter. I can call you every name in the book and it doesn't give you the right to punch me in the back in the head as I am walking away.

LINK I am sure plenty of the Rant Legal Team will weigh in with their expert contrarian views to this opinion.

I would say that Mr Harris is the one with the "expert contrarian view"

I will not get into a debate about what JH did or didn't do. Serves no purpose.

But I will say it seems the media likes to say this kind of thing so IF Miles doesn't do something they can jump all over him.

Let the judge decide to or not to revoke his probation. Before that occurs all this is just straight up BS and setting the writer(s)/reporter(s) ability to throw stones or say see I told you so.

And this particular writer is NOT the only one doing it. Pretty foul what the media has become

the guy is a terrible writer. not only in this article. i previously wrote in to his email following the original online article he wrote for the advocate following the Tigers victory over Vandy in the SECT. I actually thought a high school student put that article in the paper. it was honestly the worst written sports article I'd ever read. it was laughable.

No, discipline. Inform them that if any weird shite happens, they will lose their privileges of playing for the LSU football team.

Yeah, I doubt the team has ever been spoken to regarding negative consequences

I can't believe we have to go through every offseason and hear this shite. I'm really starting to get pissed at Miles for this. He's a good coach, but this is unbelievable. It's always someone new each year

You must not pay attention to college football (or football in general) if you think LSU has had a problem with this under Miles.

Maybe some lawyers on here can give us some insight into the judges on the case. If its Bonnie Jackson - I have a feeling Jeremy will play this year. If its Mike Irwin- I'm not so sure.

it would be special treatment if she sent him to jail...people violate probation everyday and only get a slap on the wrist

It's funny that the author wants to play devils advocate so much. If the kid baited hill into punching him with racial slurs as alleged then I say he got what was coming to him. I wouldn't use racially degrading language to anyone in that setting and not expect to get punched in the face.

Oh, such bullshite. Unless he's legitimately threatened with bodily harm it's the person who throws the first punch that SHOULD be punished. If Hill attacked a man because he was called a name then he's a giant pussy, no matter how physically imposing and capable he is.

Lay down the law, and I think most people will be surprised at how quickly the message will settle in.

You mean like kicking off a Heisman Finalst?
A starting QB who won MVP of the SECCG?
Indefinitely suspending Hill after hearing of his arrest?

Miles has done exactly what you're asking him to do,
quote:

they will lose their privileges of playing for the LSU football team
That's what an indefinite suspension is. He's waiting until the legal system plays out to make a final decision.

Les by and large runs a VERY clean program. We have the second highest graduation rate as well. I'm not pinning anything on miles. This is a miles haters bitching for the sake of bitching instance imo.

Agree. No program is perfect, and given the number of players that we recruit and that are on the team, he (and the support staff) are doing a good job.
