As far as Bower goes, I didnt comment on him(as well as others) because I hadnt reviewed their footage recently.

I just checked it out some more, and I think as an end, he will be ready before Patterson. His body is lean, and should be able to easily add some muscular weight. I think he was a quality late add to the class. He certainly has the build, but will he convert his God given abilities into pure football power? Im not sure just yet

I have never seen this posted on this board. SIAP but it seems to verify what I think about the defensive line pull(including ends)

LINK

And Yes, ESPN usually sucks, but they are spot on about LSU here

I agree 100% that this class was underrated. Time should prove it was.

Brazil will surprise you. He is bigger than Trindon was and plays bigger than he is. He has good hands and will actually turn into and challenge a defender. His speed is well documented.

Dodd-agree. Will be a good one that plays well above his star rating.

Neal-not sure quite yet but looks promising

Herron-will be a beast. Don't be surprised if you see him get a fair amount of reps this year

LaCouture-we have seen enough to know he will play and play well. One of the most play ready at this point for sure

Pocic-Love him. Most people lose sight of how young he is. He will grow and put on good weight, get quicker, and develop the rest of the skill set very quickly. One of the best pulls in this class for sure. I know him and he is a great, mild mannered kid...until he steps foot on the field lol

Boutte-perfect example of our staff seeing talent the recruiting sites don't. Great get and will be a Multi year starter on the OL

Beckwith-I agree he could get a shot at LB and I kinda hope it works out for the same reasons you mentioned.

DeSean-have met him a few times and also a well mannered kid. Responsible and sensible. Understands the game. Has truly great hands and has the ability to go up and get a ball he is challenged for at it's peak. He will be a superstar TE IMO

Patterson-athleticism is spot on. Hugh ceiling

Spears-back up plan, but def has the potential. As stated, he has only been playing football for a short time, so his development could surprise people

White-kid should be scary good. Could wear 7 at some point

Timm, you seem shy. Please, tell us how you really feel about Brazil

Nacho,
Good to have another level headed poster around the LSURB. Welcome

Thanks billy.

Bower- Have met him a few times and discussed his recruitment. The kid is all muscle and had a very good attitude. Very excited

Hey Memphis, you said Bower has bulked up a lot. What are we talking? In the 250-range?

And to the OP, couple thoughts:

First, thanks for taking the time and effort to post your thoughts. I generally agree with a majority of what you said. But I will differ in a few areas.

I think it's possible Herron sess significant time this year at DE, if he's healthy. We don't have much depth at the position. He and Bower may both get reps there. I do agree he may likely move inside at some later point.

I think Brazil has a solid LSU career. If he plays on offense, I can see him being a playmaker for us. He may be a utility guy like you say, but a utility guy who takes it to the house from time to time. He's got great speed and lateral/stop-start quickness.

I think Gilmore and Bain both prove to be solid.

Don't sell Riley short. He's athletic, smart and has a nose for the ball. All he needs is some added bulk.

I wouldn't have a 'declining' category on incoming true freshmen who haven't even dressed out for a game yet. Give them a chance first. Or maybe just use a different title than 'declining.'

. This D-line class was epic and I'm not really worried about the D-line as much as some. Young guys will have to step up and in my opinion, they will. I don't know if anybody else feels this way, but I got a very good feeling about Lewis Neal. I think he's gonna be one of the surprises of this class.

His profiles said he was 245 SR year, he looked much bigger than that. Probably high 250-low 260 range

Spent some time with him a couple weeks ago. He is def 6'4 maybe 6'5 and did not have any fat on him. I can believe he is 260. I'm strictly going off what he looked like next to me, but considering he was all muscle it wouldn't surprise me if he was up to 260. Either way, I'm super excited about him and what he will do in the P n G.

280 was floated around when he first got here but he's had a bad knee so I'm sure once he's healed he'll lose some of that.
