Pics of a bear on my land.
Posted by Teyeger on 7/8/13 at 7:13 pm00
I was riding my hunting property a couple weeks ago and saw a good bit of pig sign. I decided since work is slow that I would set out a feeder and camera and maybe even shoot a pig before deer season starts. Well the pigs haven't come back but I do have another problem on my land. Those poles on that feeder are made up of two 3ft sections for each pole so he is well over 6ft tall. And from the third pic you can definitely tell it is a male.

That'd make me extra super scared walking to a stand in the dark.

I want bad to shoot a bear with a bow, we have a few on camera on my place. But, I still have to get my nerve up about baiting a bear to a spot and walking out there to shoot it. FRICK.

Tallulah was where I was. not far. They were big too and not overly concerned about us or the 4 wheelers.

Hang that feeder and bear proof it.

I always walk to and from my stand without using a flashlight. I just know my land and usually the moonlight is enough. Well that will prolly change this year.

Shouldn't...

The majority of attacks happened in national parks, usually near campgrounds, where the bears had become habituated to human contact and food.[52] 1,028 incidences of black bears acting aggressively toward people, 107 of which resulted in injury, were recorded from 1964 to 1976 in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and occurred mainly in tourist hotspots where people regularly fed the bears handouts.[93] In almost every case where open dumps or handouts that had previously attracted black bears were ceased, the amount of aggressive encounters with bears have decreased precipitously over time.[32] However, in the afforementioned case of the spree attack in Liard River Hot Springs, the attacking bear was believed to have been previously almost fully dependent on a local garbage dump that had closed and was starving as a result of the loss of that food source.[94]

I'd still be more worried about snakes, but that's just me.
