But, the Tigers have developed more good wide receivers than any school in the Southeastern Conference over the past ten years. LSU has had five wide receivers earn first or second-team All-SEC honors according to the league's coaches.

Those five players are Michael Clayton, Devery Henderson, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon LaFell and Rueben Randle. All of those receivers except for Randle have caught more than 100 passes in the NFL. The other SEC schools together only have nine receivers with triple-digit NFL receptions.

Bowe, Lafell and Randle all played under Miles. Yeah, our passing game has sucked over the past 4 years, but we have still been able to put guys into the NFL. Just the other day our favorite Athlon writer and his co-host were saying they couldn't figure out why LSU continued to get 5-star WRs and that kids would stop coming to LSU. Just last year we had a WR drafted in the second round. None went this season because they weren't eligible to leave for the NFL. If Cameron's offense produces more passing yards in 2013, I believe we will have a good chance to put a few more into the pros.

That's good considering we haven't passed worth a damn since 2008. Hopefully we snap out of it this season.

Wasn't Bowe with Miles for two years?

Of course but he was recruited by Saban and it was Miles' first two years and I think Jimbo Fisher had much more say.

I think it'd be foolish to give Miles credit for making Bowe a good wr.

And it desperately hurts your argument as well.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bowe, Lafell, and Randle and I think Randle will be a beast the next couple of years

But AJ and Julio are on another planet these days

Miles got Bowe the Lasik surgery he needed. I'm pretty sure that helped tremendously.

A prolific passing game does not equate to excellent receivers. Just look at Megatron and Demaryius Thomas from Georgia Tech. The value of LSU receivers significantly increases with their blocking skills.

If that is the case, Miles shouldn't get credit for all the defensive players that have made it to the NFL. Give Chavis all the credit. Miles gets the blame when things go wrong but anything positive, credit goes to the players or coaches in spite of Miles. I just doesn't work that way.

Yeah, because clearly Bowe didn't improve at all after 2004 when Saban took his NFL player fairy dust with him to Miami.

If Bowe had a steady QB he would be top 5 in the league IMO. He's a monster.

Why is it that any positive news about LSU players is immediately pounced upon? Do we have a bunch of posters on this sight who are not really Tiger fans? I think many of these negative posts are coming from fans of other teams. They know that recruits read this sight and it is their mission to cast a negative light on anything positive.

Bowe is no slouch. Like I said if he gets some decent QB play he will be top 5-10 in the league.
