Fantasy football draft: during pre-season or after?

In our league, we've always waited until the last second before the season to draft, usually about a week before opening kickoff.
The reason is to avoid pre-season injuries that may happen and completely ruin a team that you just drafted.
Some want to draft earlier this year, and I would be okay with it - but the injury possibilities do worry me. Do you guys draft whenever with a "whatever happens, happens" mentality or do you wait until the preseason is over?

Generally draft middle of August or a little after. So not quite last minute, but after most of the preseason has been played.

This. Most of the players you draft will be done by that point.

I agree. I always held ours around that time. Injuries etc shouldn't be an issue.

In my home league, we hold ours on the third Sunday night football game during the preseason. I think that's the 25th of August this year.
Normally starters play a half of football during their third preseason game. So I think it works out well.

My league is doing ours on August 24 or thereabouts. If the season didn't start on Thursday, I'd try to wait til that Tuesday or Wednesday before the season but it's not really feasible.
As for injuries, it's not really an issue as injuries can happen anytime.

After week 3 games are done. Most starters don't play in 4th games. Injury is less likely.

I always hold mine until the last Sunday evening before the opening Thursday game. I want preseason games over and done with.
