been following high school football for a long time.

wanted to share these two players tapes with you guys and see what yall thought and see if I am wrong. but i cant understand how these players went unnoticed, not even on any recruiting sites, and i believe both could have started at LSU. makes me wonder what other players have went completely unnoticed that could have been stars.

FIRST ONE
kid reminded me of a white version of a laron landry with nice size

SECOND ONE

This one is not mobile compatible but is one of the better rb tapes i have seen. pretty much leonard fournette with better speed. (4.3)
can be seen blowing by Eric Reid who is #1 on the duchtown clip.

Another is Johnny Owen who even has a movie documentary about him. rb from ESJ but couldnt find film.

Because they werent good enough

Not only were they not good enough to play at LSU, they werent good enough to play ANYWHERE. So maybe that should answer your question. There are a lot of great high school football players that dont play after high school. Sure, there are some cases where a major program misses on a guy, and he goes to a small college and does great and becomes a great pro. But, those guys still go play and have offers from colleges. These guys never were offered anywhere. So, using your logic, a guy that wasnt offerd by any school in the nation was missed on by LSU and not only could they have started, but could of been stars? Right...right. Makes sense.

Johnny Owen had a documentary made about how great he was?? He had 11 carries in his career at Southeastern. Stud.

Again, being a good or even great high school player doesnt mean they are great at every level.

The documentary wasnt a strictly about how great he was. It was called walking on dead fish. About the storm. But it showed how great he was. Shouldnt these tapes have at least warranted a 2 star or something on rivals , isnt that what they base it all off of besides camps?

Johnny Owen was NOT LSU material. Wouldn't have been in our darkest days, either.
What's wrong with being remembered as a very good High School Player?

Overlooked by every school in the nation, regardless of classification... That doesnt happen that much. If they were good enough they would of gotten an offer from SOMEWHERE. Guys that are good enough get overlooked by major schools and programs and go to a smaller school... yea that happens a good bit. But, not getting offers from any school in the nation should tell you something. And its not like its the 1970s and no computers or recruiting services. Its easier now to get looks and "discovered". And these guys still didnt get a single offer. And the 1 that did was Owen and he had offers from Nicholls and Southeastern. Went to SELU. 11 career carries.

I never said they werent good... I said they werent good enough. They were good high school football players. PERIOD. Not getting an offer from any school in the country should tell you something. But, they were overlooked and could of started and been stars for LSU, when they didnt have a single offer from anywhere. ANYWHERE. And you said that RB from Destrehan was basically LF, but faster... LF is arguably the best player in the history of LA sports and has been called a once in a lifetime prospect, but a kid that didnt get a single offer in the nation is not only just as good but better... Please think what you say before you submit it.

And they dont just base a players ratings off of highlights. They watch entire game film and talk to coaches/scouts/analysts and then come up with a rating. They dont just get a highlight reel and then rate a guy off of strictly a highlight film. I mean its a highlight film. You can take pretty much any decent high school football and make an OK highlight film.

I think the kid from Shaw played baseball at a small school.

Probably for the same reason I didn't. I'd link my film but it's on VHS.
