Figured I'd post my first impressions since no one else has posted anything. This was my first game playing since the day the demo released.

Presentation: The menu's in the game are pretty nice, and the game loaded up A LOT faster then last years edition. The load times could be due to the fact that this is a digital copy and not physical but I doubt the load times will change much. The main menu is kind of cluttered but once again still a nice upgrade from 13'. I only played an online ranked match so I didn't look at the intro's or get to check out the halftime show but I will be doing that soon.

Gameplay: and all a the same time. The guy I played had the read option accessible in his playbook but he only ran it about 5 times throughout the game. He had a couple 5-6 yard gains but nothing spectacular. I will say that tackle ratings and user skill will be HUGE this year. Those read options put you in a lot of 1 on 1 situations which I'll talk about later. The speed is slower then last years but it didn't feel terribly slow like the demo and if it was any faster it would be really tuff to pull off user tackles.

Everyone knows the running game is 10X better but the passing game is no slouch either. There were time where my receiver bobbled a catch and then pulled it in, skied for the ball, or even actually caught the ball and then dropped it so that was nice to see.Recievers beat there presses at a high rate so I don't think we will see to much man defense with safeties 10 yards up unless you are matched up against scrub wide outs. Curls actually work against man press coverage sometimes as they should and deep post will actually get separation.

CONTROLS: This is why I was banging my head earlier. This new "physics" they have added into the game affect all direction changes so when you are trying to play line backer and you take a step in the wrong direction you are toast. I'v also yet to pull in a user pick because my defender rarely is in the right spot due to momentum so that will take a lot of practice if you plan on being good at it.

Any questions fire away and I'll update later

Glad to hear the passing game is good. I noticed in the demo that you really have to lay off the hit stick on tackling.

It's getting mediocre reviews.

Nothing about it impresses me at all. They revamped and souped up the option game. That's all. Oh well. More Madden 25 for me.

I guess they decided to through realism out.

Yep. Because it's more realistic and not as noob friendly.

Anyway, how are DBs in man coverage against comebacks and the like? Last year Madden didn't have this problem, but in NCAA whenever there was a cut like that in the route my DBs always kept running the other way and didn't collect themselves until like two seconds later, even if I messed with ratings like Awareness it still happened every single time.

Comebacks are still good against man coverage, I don't think the separation is as bad but I'll check in my next game. DB's actually fight for position off the line though. Pass D isn't to bad but I did see a couple man switches the left players way out of position. MANZIEL is a choke. In OT he under threw the wide out who was in 1 on 1 coverage with no safety help.

I just played a guy who ran the shite out of the option, He had a couple 6 yarders here and there and a few bad reads. It was quite aggravating but you can contain it pretty well with some user skill.

So it's realistic? Unless you're an elite linebacker or just that much better than your competition that's how it plays out. One misstep makes a huge difference.

I can't wait until I get my copy. I really enjoyed 13, but was frustrated with its flaws, and it seems like they addressed many of the gameplay flaws that plagued me. I've also read on other sites that the CPU is much better in the new recruiting and is definitely a challenge.

That's more properly represented in a tighter and yet more compelling Dynasty, the game's core career mode, thanks to an overhauled personnel management system. Other changes and inclusions, great and small, legitimately make this edition—which was in dire need of a new look after three capable but broadly repetitive entries—the best in the series' 21-year history.

RTG is the same, good god I need to get my offense together. I just lost two games by 3 points throwing 3 interceptions and forcing no turnovers on my part.

I wonder if they improved the coaching carousel......always bugged me that a coach of a winning program like Stoops or Urban Meyer got offered a Coordinator job or a low tier head a coaching job if they dont stay at their school
