We still have to sign a center... But if Jason Smith can step his game up we can get a cheap veteran center or a raw young center.

I wouldn't mind if Amudson came back

I can't spell that dudes name and to lazy to find how to

As it is, we've got mismatches at every position. Pels gonna be confusing da frick outta teams when smith and anderson are hitting outside shots and reke and jrue are under the basket lol

Why not Smith?

He's 7' and 240 lbs. He could very well be the guy. His per 36 numbers are more than solid and he has back to back 16+ PER seasons.

He could enjoy a Lopez and Vasquez type season- increase in numbers due to more minutes.

Not much room for choice. Next to zero percent chance they go after Pekovic or even Asik so you're left with the free agent dregs. But if it isn't optimal to address the position this year it's better to take a flyer and see how Smith performs than make a bad trade that handcuffs your ability to make moves next offseason.

The only reason why I don't want Smith to start is because I feel he's perfect in his role as a bench spark and a guy that can hit the jumper with the 2s.

I want a thug that starts and takes some pressure off AD, but Smoove plays as many minutes, if not more.

Looking at free agents at center... Bynum is for cheap might not be a bad idea, Maybe bring Birdman back. Other than that I think we better off with Smith at 5

That's exactly why you sign a cheap FA
