Think of how close we were to not having Jrue OR Tyreke.

Noel and McLemore were considered 2 top 5 locks this draft. Somehow, though, both fell out of that range. The player with the most potential in the whole draft fell to us, allowing us to flip him for Jrue Holiday, an All Star PG who is only 23 years old. The SG with tons of potential then fell to the Kings right behind us, allowing them to fill their SG position. They don't get McLemore, they probably don't think twice about retaining Tyreke as their SG. Instead, we flip 2 assets in Lopez and Vasquez to get Tyreke, a 23 year old former ROTY coming off maybe his best year as a pro. When AD develops into a top 10 player in the league and the Pels start bringing Larry O'Briens to NOLA, we'll have to write some big thank you letters to the Cavs, Magic, Wizards, Bobcats, and Suns.

Seriously though, everything unfolded just as Demps planned it.

My favorite quote of the past week was from 42

quote:

Holiday was someone I wanted to get on the team when he was on his way to becoming a restricted free agent, but I just thought it was impossible once his contract was extended. In walks Cleveland, and out walks impossible.

Thank you to Cleveland and Charlotte for making this possible. I don't know why I ever doubted that they wouldn't make the right pick

That is a pretty awesome quote.
