Key things that stick out to me.

Holiday was a slightly more productive PG offensively and much better defensively.

Tyreke is such a shot in the arm offensively for this team. The 5th most productive SG on the offensive side of the ball.

As much as people like to knock him Lopez was very effecient 5 last season. But there is no dropout defensively with Smith in the game.

Anytime I was referencing something that the team did last season I called them the Hornets, because thats what the team was named, LAST SEASON.

I even put a nice little Disclaimer for you to clear that up, in case you werent clear on it before.

EDIT: This is Last Years Ratings, the team was still the Hornets last season!

But thanks for your input!

Some more interesting comparisons.

From a production standpoint, Roberts was pretty similar to Vasquez last season.

I don't think Asik is the elite defensive big as some have made him out to be.

I also added a link to my data I collected if anyone wants to look at it.

PER is by no means and perfect stat, but it does help to clear up some things that our eyes maybe arent telling us.

I agree, Holidays defense is the most overlooked aspect in all this IMO.

I believe Tyreke is going to be talked into playing more of the 3 than we are anticipating. We got to get him at least 30-36 minutes a game. If we are playing more of a wide open game it becomes irrelevant if he plays the 2 or 3. I think the main problem is that Tyreke doesn't want to guard the 3, it's more of a defensive preference IMO.

Oh I think we will see Holiday, Gordon, Evans on the court together for atleast 5-10 minutes a game.

Defensively his numbers were pretty similar when playing the 2 or 3, because athletically he can handle most of the 3's in the league.

His eFG% did drop from .520 at the 2, to .453 at the 3. His shot may suffer a little when he doesn't have the height advantage he does against most of the SG's in the league.

Tyreke Evans

I'm throwing that out there. Guarding larger/ taller players and being guarded by those at the 3 is why he wants to play the 2.

has anyone put this team together in NBA 2k13 and run some simulations? That's really the only true way to find out what our team will look like.

they have rosters u can download that people made on 2k share, with all player trades and rooks on the roster. soon as FA clears up a bit, ill run another sim, because howard, ellis, etc go to a team we know they wont go too. i ran a few just as is and we usually get between the 6-8 seed, with around 44 wins, and in the 3 sims, we lost 1st round twice, lost 2nd round (4-1 to spurs, 4-2 to thunder) the other time beating the spurs 4-3 in the 1st round, losing to the thunder in round 2, 4-1.
