Time to get that 50th win finally boys. I've been absent from STL threads for the past couple weeks and haven't really had a chance to watch the Cards much part of the reason because the freaking Houston and Texas series was blacked out for me . Figure I'd start a thread tonight and hope to turn the luck around.

Nice game for the cards so far. Need to finish out this 1st strong and regain the lead in the central.

Or Tulo! He's had a monster 1st half. But they're still in contention so he might stay put.

What's underlying in this game is that Shelby settled down and had a good outing. Need the rotation to settle back down a bit.

Shelby also threw about 90% fastballs.

I think the 2 run homer was a hung curve too.

He's got a long way to go in development of his other pitches, luckily he is young.

Hopefully this offseason and spring he will work a lot with Waino like he is during the season and craft the curveball into a reliable weapon.

No doubt. He could throw his heat by minor leaguers. That was the knock on him last year that he got lazy and didn't work on his breaking stuff as well as learn to pitch instead of throw. His pitch counts reflect this now for sure.

He has the stuff and is young. We will see.

i think we need to make a move for a starter though. Im very uncomfortable with heading down the stretch and possibly playoffs with these starters.

I would not be surprised to see MO grab a vet starter at some point.

Ya I think with Garcia and Carp out and the fact that Lynn is in groundhog mode from last year. Don't understand how that dude always gets shelled early. Westbrook is also unreliable. I'd deff vote to add a legit starter
