I thought about it but I decided to save gas and stay in town and go to Turnpike Troubadours/Ryan Bingham instead. If you get there early enough, though, my buddies are opening up the picnic and they are rad. Dirty River Boys. Great show.

Turnpike Troubadours/Ryan Bingham at Whitewater Amphitheater on Friday...Dirty River Boys/The Departed/The Toadies at the same venue on Saturday. It's actually in New Braunfels, though, but it's only 45 minutes. Awesome music venue.
I'm sure there's plenty going on in Austin proper, too. Always music somewhere :)

Also, just walking up and down the streets downtown, you should be able to find some live music.
The White Horse on Comal is a really great dive bar that almost always has live music...kind of a honky tonk with an awesome taco truck in the back. Fun spot, 6th street east of I-35. Lots of cool bars in that area if you get tired of Dirty 6th.
And sorry I'm not very helpful...I just know what music I'M seeing this weekend and that's what I listed

Up and coming NOLA funk band Earphunk is playing at The Parish on 6th street on Saturday. Myself and a big group of LSU people will be there after String Cheese that night. Earphunk is awesome live, you should definitely come if you don't have plans. Tickets only $12
