IN A first for the province, the horns of several rhinos in the Eastern Cape were injected yesterday with a toxic substance that makes people very ill.
The rhinos – at the private game park Buffalo Kloof outside Grahamstown – join the more than 200 rhinos from around the country that have already undergone the process in an attempt to deter poachers.

I think another way would be to fly helicopters around and shoot the poachers.
But that's just me - I'm aggressive.

I like your plan better. Kill all the poachers.

drone the poachers
I think we have a winner.

Or drone the poaches...
Although I like the enthusiasm. I don't think so. Chances are we would supply the drones for this operation and my GD tax dollars are spent on entirely too much shite that doesn't affect me as it is.

I think they already do this. Problem is, the poachers have helicopters too, and are organized and armed like swat teams. Rhino is spotted from the air, kill team is trucked in right on top of it. Chainsaw cuts the horn, and they're gone.
Watched a special on it not to long ago. These aren't amateurs, ivory is worth more than gold per lb.

I wonder if there are any former military snipers out there who are ardent animal lovers? Put them in poach zones and let them go to work.

Sell once in a lifetime tags for rhinos at insane prices. Use $ for propagation of species and to hire game wardens with heavy weapons to kill poachers.

Then we need science to create this:

I saw commercials for a show along those lines that was supposed to start up, but if cameras are following them I don't see how they're gonna be able to do what they would need to do...

Most African countries do have a shoot to kill policy in regard to poaching. The problem is that there have been numerous wars in recent years and most of the poachers are war vets and they don't hesitate to shoot at and kill game wardens on site. I don't believe any of you would want to go there and try to shoot poachers unless you have combat experience because thye are not going gentle into that goodnight.

And those are just the natives trying to get a piece of the pie. The way I understood it the European mafia recruits ex special forces and those are the ones who are in and out in a matter if minutes after coordinating the entire thing like a military raid. It's like real life diehard shite over there.
