I will be in Bordeaux, France for the entire month of August. I am looking to go to some Ligue 1 games while I am there, mostly interested in PSG. Does anyone have any tips/advice/or information about the best way to go about getting tickets and any other random suggestions or advice?

I'll also be in Venice, Italy for all of September, so hopefully wm stops by this thread. I'd love to hear any advice on Italian tickets/games and other things to do/see.

TIA

It is. I'm going to try and check them out, but I really want to try and see PSG when they play Montpelier.

Verona is close, but seeing as I've never been I can't really help.

Udine isn't far, but its not exactly close either. Its a pretty small town and further than Verona, but obviously you can catch Udinese. If you want to go somewhere with great vineyards in the foothills of the Alps its an awesome place to visit.

By the way, enjoy the smell of raw sewage and tourist sweat.

I'm actually going to be working on a vineyard in both locations.

I really wish I could make it to Naples or Florence.

You're lucky man. I was hoping to make it to interior Europe (Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Normandy) before a class I'm taking in London, but that's looking less likely. It seems I may be stuck in the British Isles. White People problems.

You should take a quick side-trip to Ukraine and see the lovely industrial sludge hills of Luhansk.

Not sure if directed to me or not. But do the Cossacks still do hayride tours in that area? Also, thoughts on Chernobyl? May have to make the trip.

Florence is 2 hours by train from Mestre(Venice Mainland Station), you could easily make a day trip. Looks like 29 euro each way, but I saw some 19 euro tix if you travel off peak.

I hope you enjoy Venice, my wife and I went last September and loved it.

PSG

i got my tickets through my hotel concierge. they were amazing seats and it was a hell of an experience. we unknowingly bought some VIP package so we ate in the team restaurant at no charge prior to the game. unlimited free food and drinks. my soccer ignorant father in law was in awe.

i made it to rome, florence, and venice in the same trip but didn't make to any other matches besides the one at parc des princes.
