Yes you can download to a USB type storage device ... I hope this helps.

If you have it plugged in and formatted to use a storage place selection box should pop up, then select your desired unit and you should be good to go.
You might not have it formatted for use though and that's why you wouldn't be given that option

No option. At the purchase screen it defaults download to memory unit. Wtf?
