This is a mistake, and offering a deal this big is why bad teams stay bad. This is Peja and Posey all over again. Except back then we were winning.

Please elaborate on how it is even remotely the same. For both Peja and Posey we overpaid for aging players. Here they are paying for a young player with a ton of potential.

Who would you pay 11 mil a year for?

The fact of the matter is there is a chance that he could never develop anymore or regress, but I think it is more likely that he will improve as he gets more time with guys like Jrue and AD. There are no guarantees in free agency and the ones who are almost sure things are not coming to NOLA.

So what is it going to be do you want the team to be better next year or do you want to just stand pat?

I must have missed the point where Tyreke wasn't better than those two and wasn't 23 years old.

Actually his production is on par with other players around the same salary range, not to mention he is only going in to his 5th year.

Of course, it would be nice to have a player like Evans on an extremely team friendly contract. But bringing in talented players to a team in the middle of rebuilding requires a little bit of overvaluing.

I'm ok with that for a young guy with plenty of talent.

Way to compare a 23 yr old to 30yr+ players... Also, if I remember right, Peja made $15 his last year and average $13 for a few years. Evans will make $12M at MOST a year...
