Buzz around Houston is that DH wants to play along side not only superstar James Harden, but also another superstar.

Who is available and who, in your view, should they throw their hat in the ring for?

Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are on the trading block as of today. Have a feeling that Patrick Beverly will also be included in a trade/sign and trade.

Thoughts?

Too pricey brah. I think he's in his what? 2nd year of his contract right now?

Forgot to add, the Rox are talking about bringing in Dunleavy Jr or Corey Brewer. Neither of them being ideal.

Lin and Asik can't match his contract?

Iggy, make Parsons a sixth man.

Or Smith to play the 4. Both should be feasible.

ETA : By both I don't mean Houston can get both of them.

They've got a lot of good young players, some with chances to be really special. They should let that pan out before throwing money at another guy.

Plus, they can always wait until you-know-who becomes a FA...

No way, none of these guys are worth the effort IMO.

Amare is 110% an awful move. He might not even be able to walk in 3 years.

Iggy is a bad move, just not a legit "big 3" guy to me.

Ryan Anderson would be just as appetizing as Josh Smith and would also be a poor "big 3" addition. If Rockets are going to do this they need to get a bigger name than any of the guys mentioned.

Houston may have to wait another season before a legit 3rd guy emerges. It sucks that Chris Paul was so set on the Clips because he might have had a far better roster in Houston, but attention whores will do that.

I think if you're Houston and you can get josh smith you give up parsons if you have to. But wouldn't give up parsons to get iggy.

Yeah, its weird to think that actually might be a possibility....at this point I would be surprised if LeBron even gave Houston consideration. In fact, I would be blown away, but weirder things have happened.

So we're left with Canaan as our starting pg?

If Dwight took a little less money we could actually bring in 2 different players making $10-13m a year. Not likely to happen, but possible.

I think J Smoove will want too much money, and the Rockets should NOT overpay for him. He's not worth $15 million which is what he turned down from the Hawks. He would be a poor man's Chris Bosh on a big 3 without a LeBron level talent on the team....

Also, if Howard is going to be banging on the inside then you need a PF with more finesse like LaMarcus Aldridge and Josh Smith is the opposite of finesse. I would rather keep Asik at $9 million/year with D12 than over pay for Josh Smith.

The Rockets don't have to give up parsons for josh smith and they wouldn't even entertain that are you serious.

If they get dwight, they get josh smith in a sign and trade for asik, the hawks want him and horford down low.
