Anyone have any experience with them? It looks like I can install one myself. Just curious if anyone has one to see how effective they are

About a year ago I was introduced to a chemical called Bifen. I mix it in a 25gal. boom sprayer and spray my 1.5 ac. yard. I spray the grass, flowers plants etc. about every three months. Mosquitos were so bad at my house at certain times you could not be outside. I have been using Bifen for about 1.5 years and have seen about 5 mosquitos in that time. It also works on fire ants.
You have to be careful during the spring time because it will kill bees.

I just googled it to just read about it more and it shows a lot of places that sell it.

It's the generic version of Talstar. I spread around my place every year and it works great.

I found online places that sell it but nothing around Thibodaux/Houma

Any feed/tack stores should have it. Iknow there is a co/op in Thib on 308. There is tons of Ag/Farming around there, so there should be tons of farm supply.

I was going to check the feed store after work today
EDIt: Thibodaux Feed and Seed does not have it

Well i hope it works becuase I just oredered some off the internet. i live a mile from a huge swamp and right next to a drained swamp so we have tons of mosquitoes and gnats so being outside is impossible at night

Ponchatoula Feed & Seed carries it in granular and liquid form (also Talstar).

Is Bifen the same as bifenthrin? It's the ingredient in Ortho Home Defense Max and it really works well.
I've also had some success with permethrin products.

Yes they are then same. I've been reading. I've also read on this kidssafe shite since my kids play back tthere. Might try that first on the end of my garden sprayer.

What I use is the Bifen IT liquid. I used telstar granular in the past for red ants and did not make any difference in mosquitos. Once I used the Bifen liquid instance success on mosquitos.

Spray the grass as well as all plants and the soffet on the house. It will dry in about an hour then it is safe for pets.
I use 40 gal. for 1.5 ac. at a rate of 12-15oz per 20 gal. in a 25 gal. boom sprayer. It will last for about 3 months depending on the amount of rain.
Avoid spraying in the spring time because it will kill bees.
