It's a great show.

Always liked it but not enough to actually follow it. Been catching it in syndication a lot lately, so decided to work my way through it on Netflix.

i thought it was pretty solid throughout, then that last scene took it to another level.

UC is my favorite movie of the year and favorite in the past few years.

definitely wait to finish the series before the movie. i wish i knew people who watched it and the movie because i really want to talk about it

nice, and yeah, The Conformist is stunning. It snared me in one of those magical movie moments where everything was a total immersion into the world of the film.

me and crazy saw that in his class, then he went and bought a copy (or maybe just Netflixed it?) so we could watch it again immediately. Foobud, you just mosdef queue this one up in your list of must-watches.

it is on my written list now.

either of you seen the 1924 film Greed? i've heard a lot of good things about it (Nolan even put it on his top 10 Criterion list in an attempt to get them to get the rights to it )

i wonder if OU has a decent film selection...i guess i don't have access to that anymore though :/

Down: Crystal Palace, Norwich City, Hull City

Promoted: Leicester, Bolton, Derby

ETA: Derby is there as the token "they'll finish sixth and win the playoff" team

Yea, I got lost in the illusionary images of light and dark within the film. The thematic portrayal of freedom and time were wonderful.

never heard of Greed, but now my interest is piqued based off that Noal anecdote.

speaking of Criterion, they got Lena Dunham to make a list. it's a tad annoying like you might expect but I really love a few of her choices, esp. Picnic At Hanging Rock

Liked this line about MF in Fish Tank:
"See Michael Fassbender begin his reign as resident psychosexual nightmare heartthrob here."

Will Hill has QPR as 13/8 favorites for promotion.

I personally think that's hysterical. I'd actually put money on Nottingham Forest going up over them.

One weird thing about the Championship this season is Doncaster and Yeovil. I remember about 10 years ago when I first really got into the full scale of English club football, and those two were promoted at the same time out of the conference.

About 10 years later, they are together again one step from the Premiership. Weird how shite comes full circle. Best of luck to them both, though odds will say they both are fighting the drop.

I'll contribute now. Today, the EU admitted Croatia as its 28th member. It is only the second nation of the former Yugoslavia (Slovenia is the other) to be admitted to the EU. And I think that's just swell.
