Watching last years offence we need to score way more TD'S than FG. I hope with the new OC this will happen.

FG's pay more, to the tune of a raise to $4+ million

Kind of a no shite post but I agree with you. That was my biggest beef last year. We'd get into the red zone and go ultra conservative regardless of how we got there. Mett could have gone 7/7 65 yards in getting us down there and we'd shut it down and run it up the middle. I guess the mindset was 3 points is better than turning it over and getting no points. That kind of shite loses close games.

I see Jennings featured inside the 7 for '13 and beyond. Just the threat will loosen a D up.

2010 offense was pretty bad. Their redzone TD/FG ratio was bad so the offense seemed even worse.

2011 offense wasn't much better but they had an outstanding redzone TD/FG ratio which meant more points and a perceived better offense.

2012 offense had its moments but was poor overall and Mett made some bad redzone decisions.

TD/FG ratio is extremely important. An offense doesn't need to put up 500 yards as long as they execute in the redzone. 2011 is the perfect example.

I was pretty excited to open this thread and see something insightful or positive about the future of our redzone offense. I guess that is too much to ask these days... Why even bother starting a thread like this?

What's there to say? How do you predict redzone efficiency?

LSU will run the ball well in 2013. Hopefully that transitions into being able to score TDs in the redzone.

Not sure what you're bitching about.

The 5th most yards in a season for LSU was ranked 57th in 2011. Yikes.

They dominated by running the ball against tired teams in the 2nd half. And all the turnovers and 3 and outs forced by the defense gave them even more chances. it wasn't a dynamic or explosive offense.

Dang, we could've been #1 total O Houston.
I don't get stuck on the method of gaining yds or scoring.
Maybe I lie.
I love to see foes quit over shootouts. It seems to be the Crystal formula.

Agree to disagree, but 2011 had way less total plays than 2003, 2007, even 2012 or any of the other great Tiger Os.
Next comes the D scoring argument.
'11 had greates MoV over opps of any LSU squad, but less D TDs than '03 and other good Ds.
