I do not see aTm having any real shot of beating us.

Since the year 2009, we've only lost 2 home games. One against the #1 ranked Florida Gators and one Against the #1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

You know what they had in common that TAMU doesn't, a top 5 nationally ranked defense.

#1 ranked Florida was #3 in the nation in total defense

#1 ranked Alabama was #2 in the nation in total defense.

Came here to post that because of the offseason. I read anything college football related that interests me and what I often see is that we are an afterthought after Bama and TAMU. Somehow their game against each other will be the deciding factor in the west.

Last time I checked, we came to their house and beat them, we've given Bama hell for the past 5 years(even Jarrett Lee's four int game in 2008 was a win in OT for them).

Don't even look at us losing any home games unless we are facing a powerhouse on defense with an equally talented offense. Aint gone happen PERIOD

Awesome. I'm betting the house on it then.

Anything can happen...injuries, defensive breakdowns, coaching mishaps. Always expect the unexpected.

They basically have to replace their front 7. I'm not worried about them. Only 2 sacks and 1 hurry against our o line last year. It's going to be hard for them to pressure Mett this upcoming season.

While our defense lost experience. We still have capable and athletic defenders to take over

The secret play book? Number 1 pass offense in the country this year. Book it. Period.

LSU has at least 6 games that we are beatable in. Might win them all, might split, who knows.

I actually watched the entirety of our game against aTm last year. If you watch the first half of that game, you really wonder how we were able to win it.

Both teams committed egregious penalties, which caused momentum to constantly shift back and forth. aTm looked like they were going to run away with the game, but shot themselves in the foot. Once LSU changed to the 3-man front and put another linebacker on the field, we were able to contain Manziel and shut down aTm's offense. I believe we will probably use a similar approach since we return a large portion of those defenders that shut them down last year along with the fact that they lost some key guys on offense.

However, I have to believe that Sumlin will have a strategy to face this type of front since Manziel won't be catching any teams off guard this year. I don't expect aTm to be as good as they were last year, but they are still very capable of winning the SEC. If our offense improves and we execute to our potential, then we should be a solid team next year. We have great talent at every offensive position, so if Cam can get our offense rolling, then I don't see why we won't be a top 10 team. Only weakness we have at the moment is our field goal kicker, which could cost us some close games. I don't know how the defense will do this year, but I know we have a great coordinator that is capable of getting those guys to play at a high level.

Watched it again the other day. Mett overthrew 2-3 TD's. It was really windy that day. He'll be more comfortable in Baton Rouge. Plus the game being at 11 sucked really bad

We've also come dangerously close to losing to a number of scrubs. It's bound to happen one day.

Mett also overthrew five easy touchdowns and Manziel looked as lost as a duck from the middle of the second quarter, til the end of the game.

Our away schedule is basically OM, UGA Alabama.

We didn't have Hill or Blue against Florida last year and they won't beat us this year with them. TAMU is end of the year and we already know how to beat Manziel.

I believe aTm is good enough to realistically beat anyone in the country.

They barely have anybody coming back in their front 7. Their defense is going to have growing pains for almost the whole season. As a team they had 31 sacks last year. 75% of that production is gone. Tiring them out and slowing down the game

They'll be able to find solid production, but consistency will keep them out of the SEC championship. Teams like LSU and Bama will be able to run down their throat.

You have to understand that LSU has been graced with superb defenses to help win those games. Tennessee in 2010 and Ole Miss in 2012 were some scary close games. Texas A&M is a winnable game for sure, but we need to see if Johnny Party Heisman indeed does get a big head from all the attention or not. Let's hope the talented, yet relatively unproven, 2013 defense can be good enough to do their job effectively like the offense is (hopefully for real this time) expected to do. If those two things come to fruition, I like our chances too.

Tam is not gonna be our problem this year. It will be UGA away and Bama at home.

Anybody who knows football knows that when you kick the football off any legitimate opponent "has a shot" at beating us, much less a team the caliber of A & M. I'm thinking most fans don't realize how hard it is to win a football game against a quality opponent.

There are 10 games before that one.

Too many things cod happen between now and then to be acting this way IMO

Why can't you just say Aggies suck it and leave it at that?
