Thinking of taking the wife to cotton tomorrow for brunch. Can't find the brunch menu anywhere online. Anybody been and what was being served for brunch?

I still haven't made it to Cotton, but all reviewed I've heard to date say the place is a can't miss.

Balls had brunch there not too long, IIRC. Either He or Otis should be along shortly to help you on the options.

Take the MIL there there when forced to go see her, everything I've had has been great, so I'm sure the brunch is good.

I do think they are passing off some other bourbon as pappy though, tasted like basil Hayden's

It's a fine brunch. I had the beef short ribs and eggs if I recall. Smothered Missssspi rabbit and shrimp and grits are top notch as well.

Well....how was it? I stopped eating there a few months ago. Every entree had the same damn seasoning and spices and it all got to be the same. The rabbit is good though.

I need to get back and try it again. I can find out about the PVW situation as well.

It better not be fake.

Made it up to Cotton for brunch. Got there about 12:45. Was seated immediately. Thought the building and the decor was very nice. The waitress said that the brunch menu was new starting today. We started with the moscovy duke wraps. Thought they were pretty good. Wife even liked them and she normally won't eat duck. She got the BLT&e. it was a Blt with and egg. She said it was very good, fresh tomatoes and really good bacon. I had the cheeseburger. It was also very good. It on the small side, but was very good quality meat and also cooked very well. Both entrees came with a small salad and crab boil potatoe salad. All in all I really enjoyed the meal and the experience. Look forward to going back and trying their dinner menu.

Thanks for the detail - I am going back there this week for drinks and food.

I probably needed a break from it for a while.

Doesn't sound very brunch like but I bet it was good.

I thought the menu was odd. They had brunch items, biscuits, waffles and such, but we were more in the mood for the lunch items. They also had shrimp and grits and a fish of the day, think they said grouper was today. The dinner menu looks like its got something's I would like to try. Will be going back one day.

I've been many times, but only once for brunch. Had chicken and waffles, which consisted of a wing, leg and breast, 1 waffle, a side of turnip greens and a honey pepper glaze/syrup. The whole plate was only about $10 and very good. Bloody Mary was good as well. Wife had a bacon egg and cheese panini that was very good and we also had pimento and cheese beignets that were tasty.

You wouldn't expect such from a well respected chef. Which seasoning and spices was it?

The menus changed this week, so I'll be looking for a reason to go.

I'm going to be in the minority here, but I've eaten there twice since Cory Bahr took over and haven't been impressed either time. Got shrimp & grits the first time. First bite was really good. Second bite got a mouth full of raw celery and almost gagged. I hate that stuff. Second time I got fish and chips (probably not the best choice). It was pretty average. IMO neither dish was worth what I paid for it.

Gosh, and people from all over the world, mainly from the UK come to Monroe to get their Fish n Chips, must have been an off day?

Yeah, I know. But I expected a world class chef to be able to make it taste better than Walmart fish sticks.
