What are some of the remakes that are in your opinion, better than the original?

I'm going to have to say, Waylon Jennings' version of "Can't you see" is better than the Marshall Tucker Band's version.

Interested in what some of you guys think, and some of your songs you enjoyed being remade?

No one will ever cover Subterranean Homesick Blues better than the original.

NIN's Hurt sounds like it was meant for Johnny Cash

I won't even listen to it much because it depresses the shite out of me.

I agree 100%. Johnny Cash could probably improve many a lot of songs.

Warren Haynes' version of "Into the Mystic"

Cross Canadian Ragweed's "Whiskey River"

Gov't Mule's "Simple Man"

DMB's "Cortez the Killer" - really don't like the neil young version, or neil young.

Also, don't know who did "Mexico" first, but the James Taylor version is my favorite.

I don't know if this counts, but I like what Jason Bonham did on Good Times Bad Times better than the original by his dad.
