The Pelicans traded away next year's 1st round pick and Nerlens Noel to get an All Star PG that can play defense. Why not? It's a Great trade.

I am seeing most people argue about the 1st rounder for next season but let me put this into perspective for you.

Andrew Wiggins - Only bonafide future star and WILL be the #1 pick next season so teams will be moving some players as we get closer to the draft in 2014 to trade up and get him, book it.

Next Up - Randle, Parker, Smart Robinson III, etc...

It will be fun to watch next year's first round but the Pelicans made the right call at the right time. Who is to say we don't trade EG for a Lottery Protected 1st rounder in 2014? shite, the Bobcats proved that their FO is about as incompetent as I am on NBA 2K13, they might be willing to trade for him.

How many seasons are we going to win 25-30 games before realizing that we need to win now?

The Jrue trade was a GREAT one for us and it should give us another 20-23 wins which would put us in the playoffs. Nuff said.

I am happy about the trade. Ready to see this lineup in action.

A lot of things would have to go right for one player to force a 20 game swing.

No, Wiggins is not guaranteed to go #1. He's impressive, but so was shabazz coming out of high school

Jrue helps us tremendously on both sides of the ball. And he will make Davis better. And take pressure off Gordon. Yeah, I can see a 20 win improvement. Toss in Iggy and you're looking at a good basketball team going forward

Cho is actually a really good GM and the Bobcats have not done anything really dumb the past couple of seasons. They have a great young nucleus (Walker, MKG, Zeller, maybe Henderson) and they will have tons of cap space this year and next (almost 20m each season).

That is just insane. Maybe once we make another couple of moves or improvement from Davis/Rivers. But that trade doesn't translate to 50 wins. That's just crazy..

He needs to consistently get on the court first.

People really need to stop assuming this as a probability. Iggy would be taking a hefty pay cut to come here.

The Pelicans 2014 pick next season won't mean much if they make the 7th seed in the playoffs. Then you're looking at a high pick in then teens that was traded.

i am most looking forward to Noel's first game when he puts up 15/15 with 5 blocks and there are 40 threads on here that say we should have kept him.

this game will come sometime in February of course

I would rather tank and have a top 5 pick next year to put us in legit contender position in 2014/15, than be a 7th seed and lose in 5 or 6 to OKC, SAS, LAC( ), then have no pick and little cap space to improve.

i'd rather be back in the playoffs, which would be a vast improvement over last season, than watching this team win fewer than 30 games again. i don't think i can take that kinda season anymore
