We Haven't Talked About Iggy . . . really . . .

I was never one of those who really thought much about Iggy coming to New Orleans. And he sort of seemed to be one of those players that some younger fans latch onto almost irrationally.
Lately, though, I've thought more about the guy. He's undersized for a 3 and he's a decent scorer but not a scoring machine (although he sure as hell can get to the rim). BUT, he's a defensive monster and can disrupt. That results in turnovers and points off the break.
I don't think it's a probability that the guy will come here, but I believe Demps is going to make some sort of a run at him even taking into consideration the cap space we have to clear. That said, what do you guys honestly think about him and our current lineup? Does he fit? Is his size at the 3 a concern or does that type of positional thinking not matter as much these days? Would it be a good move?

Not for the contract length and salary

Holiday, Gordon*, Iggy, and Davis give you 4 starters that play well on both sides of the ball. Make it happen Demps!

please dont do it... lets get that top 5 pick because it looks like the draft next year is packed

I think the guy relies purely on his athleticism to be effective, and I wouldn't want to be the team that is paying him into his 30s when that athleticism wanes.

Like either corndeaux or you mentioned the other day, this would be a League Pass favorite.

If they can get him for Holiday's $$, I think it works.
He is a great athlete that is getting older, but that discredits how smart he is as a player. Matt Moore's feature with him was very impressive. He understands defense- hes not just running around like Aminu. With Holiday/Gordon he is at best the 3rd option, which is perfect for him. Just a great fit here
The only potential downside to that move is I dont think they have the space unless they buy out Lopez. Lopez ain't great, but is Monty really going with Anderson/Davis as starters and Smiht as your 3rd big? Not saying they that stops them from going.after Iggy, but that seems like a problem.

Assuming a 4-year contract, he'd be 33 in the last year of the contract. He won't be elite athletically anymore by then, but he still should be very good in transition, at the basket and on the defensive end still. His presumed declining athleticism isn't why I wouldn't want to do the deal.

Iggy's size hasn't been an issue. He has been regarded as one of the best all around SFs in the league since he came in. At the same time, he's versatile enough to play SG, which he showed last year.
I don't think the Pels bring him in, though. Yes, they made huge strides to get better simply by adding Jrue. But he's 23, and on a 4 year deal. You have 3 years left of Gordon and Davis. While I think the FO is going for a vast improvement this year, Im not sure they want to take on Iggy for an extended time. I look for them to make a move for a younger SF on a nice contract. I wouldnt be totally upset with Iggy, though

I agree. Maybe we can grab some first round picks from the Patriots.

Yep. Douches gonna douche.

According to Synergy he is far and away the best defender at the 3 in the league. Adding Iggy would make us a Top 3 Defensive team in the league.

I think we should all start blowing up his twitter feed with how perfect an addition he would be to the Pelicans, throw the idea out there that we really want him here. He clearly respects Holiday and his game, and Davis played with him during the Olympics.
