Spin off thread-rare fish caught in Louisiana

I remmember back in the mid 90's a few snook being caught at IRC at the rocks at SW pass.

That would be awesome. Friends caught blackfin tuna at the SW pass rocks.

I don't know about rare, but we have caught bigeye snapper, ribbonfish, and eels at the platforms out of SW pass. We have seen an 8 ft gator swim past us 4 or 5 miles out. Seen snakes at the base of the platforms. Seen falcons chase seagulls.

Saw an orca jump completely out of the water. Thought I was crazy, then saw pics of the pod, taken from a platform later that week

My old room mate caught a pike looking fish in Dularge.

Ugliest fish I ever seen.

One of the best tasting fish out there.... 1st few years I moved to FL we caught the at will. My fishing time has been very limited but i hear snook fishing has slowed down quite a bit.
