Most underrated has to be Wayne Martin. Was a great defensive lineman on a ton of shite teams

Overrated: Kyle Turley. People loved that guy and he was just OK.

Eric Martin is underrated.

Underrated:

Wayne Martin is 2nd in Saints history in sacks and 4th in tackles.

Sammy Knightis 7th in tackles, 3rd in interceptions and 1st in interceptions returned for touchdowns. And he did that in half the time of the two guys ahead of him.

Fred Thomas simply for all the flack he takes on this board. He was really good until his injury/age took it's toll. He's 10th all time in interceptions, 10th all time in tackles and tied with Sammy Knight with 10 sacks.

Hate Archie all you want, but he is pretty much 1st, 2nd or 3rd in all QB stats for the Saints. I never saw him play, but everyone who did said he was a great player on terrible teams.
I'll say he's "appropriatelyrated".

His record as a starter was 35–101–3 (26.3%), the worst in NFL history among QBs with at least 100 starts. He retired having never played on a team that notched a winning record or made the playoffs.

And what exactly is your point?

you quote stats as if that's proof that he was overrated. Those were horrible teams, he spent most of his time running for his life. I should ask you what your point is, but it's pretty obvious you don't have one.

dude, the team sucked so bad it made him suck

-typical response

yes, we all know the saints were pure garbage the first 20 years of existence, even finding a way to be the first team to lose to the expansion bucs. But we might have had a winning season if we didn't have a QB go -50 in TD/INT ratio. And spare me the "he's among the team leaders in career passing stats" nonsense. he played what like 12 years with the saints, of course he will be.

Trent Dilfer is one of 27 Superbowl winning QBs. That makes him an "All Time Great Quarterback in the NFL"?

The point is, being a somewhat okay player on a dismal team doesn't elevate your status any. He did play on other teams, and he didn't play all that well in those city's either.

I think people want to look fondly on Archie just because he was a small star playing for a franchise of futility.

I didn't say this at all, and why are we even talking about Trent Dilfer.
