I know we get on Fredi for his myriad lineups but it just seems weird to see Laird in the 5 hole.

At least he's been putting the ball in play I guess.

Fredi gonna Fredi. Don't know what handed the pitcher is, but if left handed, why Schafer and Heyward at the top? If righty why Laird and no McCann?

Guy is a rightie, so just a day off for Mac I'm guessing. But it's a weird arse time for a day off considering we have two off days this week. Fredi gonna Fredi indeed.

He's a righty. McCann was probably just due for a day off.

The only thing Fredi really deserves heat over when it comes to lineup construction this year is his insistence on keeping Simmons in the leadoff spot despite his inability to get on base consistently. If you are going to be a .250 bat in the leadoff spot, you better be drawing a lot of walks and stealing a lot of bases. Simmons refuses to let anyone walk him if he can get his bat to the ball though, and he is flat out horrible as a baserunner. Yet he is being put in a position where he will get the most PAs on the team over the course of 162 games. It makes no sense.

Had a day off Monday and a day off tomorrow. I guess two in a row would be too much for McCann.

Catcher would have batted 5th today whether it was Matt Pagnozzi or Buster Posey.

Good start for Arizona. Hope they keep it up. Prado with an RBI.

In other news, I listened to 2 innings of Rex Hudler last night and he is arguably the worst color man in the game.

Ready for a full game of him Hudlerisms tonight.

After I left the thread, I see they discussed an article about trading Heyward. Will never happen.

Is he pretty much senile or something? Like the baseball version of Verne?

Because I find it difficult to believe anyone is worse than Kruk.

I usually take the negative approach, but I think Heyward is going to have a big game tonight.

"His hit speed on that home run was 97 miles an hour! That ball ain't walkin'! 455 feet, are you kidding me?!? Somebody call the cops! "

This was his breakdown of Hosmer's home run on the opening of tonight's broadcast.

The entire game sounds like an announcer on a video game just running through pre-recorded cliches.
