Hearing that the Kings will NOT match any increased offers on Tyreke Evans, if they materialize. As it stands, they are prepared to lose him.
Should we?

Can we have cousins instead?

What is their current offer?

Not sure
They did offer him a qualifying offer though

Tyreke's qualifying offer was $6,927,156
He's a good player but I wouldn't want to pay more than $6 million for someone that I see as either a role playing starter or bench leader.

He is more than a role playing starter/bench leader at $7.5 I would do the deal making it an incentive-based contract

Not until he gets a legit perimeter shot, which he was supposedly working on.

$6.9m or more a season seems high for a guy who doesn't have a true position.
He also has problems hitting jumpshots, as he only converts about 38% of them.
I also don't think it's very good that a player at the 2/3, which he's been at with Sacramento, taking about half his shots from close range rather than as jumpshots. Most other players I'm seeing from the 2 or 3 tend to shoot about 70% of their shots as jumpers.

Pass. His numbers have gone down every year in his career.

I like him a lot, but not sure he's worth $7+ mm. His minutes have decreased but his shooting and 3P% have increased over his three year career.
Would be a good complement to EG at the three if we keep him, and also play 2 if we deal EG or he gets hurt.
Gonna be hard to get a much better player for less or the same price IMO.

Anybody that wouldn't pay 8mil dollars for Evans and would take Jennings at 10-12 needs to have their head checked.

I don't think there are many true Jennings lovers on this site. It's mostly people that accept Demps has had serious interest and it will probably take $10-$12 to get him.

Exactly.
Evans for around $8m isn't a bad deal. Someone will pick him up for that (maybe more) and run

I'll say this, Evans is athletic and big enough to be taught how to play D the right way at the 2 and most 3's.
Evans can get to the rim consistently and he's a decent passer for his size. I would jump at the chance to get him anywhere in the 7-9 mil/yr range in a heartbeat. We need penetrators and playmakers badly and he takes slightly over 50% of his shots at the rim.
Bottom line: If he comes in with the right attitude and Monty/Dell think that they can groom him, he's a freaking steal at that price. Dude's been on a dysfunctional team his whole career.

This begs the question of a lower offer. The 1y deal is likely meaningless. Easy to sign and trade for less than the QO.
I would not Mike Tyreke at $5m, so he can be moved into a standard MLE if necessary. I think his situation has affected him a recoverable way. Speculation.
$7m for 4y is pushing it for me. A $7m version of Lopez's deal I'd roll with.

I also think he could be really good in a better situation than the clusterfrick in SAC

I'm pretty tired of guys that are a jumpshot away from being good, but Evans does have very good potential if he could develop that shot so I probably would be ok with this kind of deal that we could walk away from if it doesn't work out. Taking a chance on Evans is surely in the same ballpark as taking a chance on Marion and #13.

"Without a jumpshot", he averaged 20-5-5 as a rookie at the point before falling victim to the blackhole that is Sacramento coaching and management. Who changes a rookie's position after he averages 20-5-5? A change of scenery and a solid coaching staff does wonders for his game. If you can get him for 7-9 million 4years, you take it and run.
