Oh please tell us your analysis of the talent in next year's draft, guru!

Again, Lillard won ROY with a VERY similar season to Vasquez's. Making this trade makes us desperate for a PG in FA, and if we strike out, Rivers or Roberts is our starter, which is the kind of situation where you want to own a pick the next season in a loaded draft.

Randle, Parker, Smart, Wiggins, Young, Harrison, Selden. What do I win?

ETA: Forgot Gordon.

So far, that is true, but there is no way of knowing that he doesn't improve before next year.

Last 2 years? He nearly won MIP this year, fool. Even so, if he levels out at last year's performance, he's a quality guard. A decent team needs 4 quality guards. Right now, we have 2: Vasquez and Gordon. Rivers showed a couple flashes of potential, but is clearly not ready to carry the load. Assuming a rookie from this draft to come in and take over is also pretty faulty. Why trade one of the only decent players we have for what will likely end up being a downgrade in near term performance. Which leads me to my next point:

We absolutely will suck next year if we don't have a decent PG on the roster.

@Macintosh- no it isn't. Remember 03? The one everyone hails as legendary? Legendary for four stars, David west and a few good role players.

4 Hall of Famers + 4 All-Stars (Kaman + West + Josh Howard + Mo Williams) + Boris Diaw + Kirk Hinrich + Kendrick Perkins + Matt Bonner + Kyle Korver + Carlos Delfino + Leandro Barbosa + Steve Blake + Nick Collison + Mickael Pietrus + Willie Green + Keith Bogans + Zaza Pachulia + MARCUS BANKS + Luke Walton + Sasha Pavlovic + Dahntay Jones

If you add all of this up (use a calculator if you must), simple arithmetic indicates that you don't know what the frick you're talking about, WhoDatPelican596.

If they have someone that they REALLY like at 1 (Oladipo/Noel?), I don't have a problem pulling the trigger. I would ask for top 3 protection on the 2014 pick though.

If they are going to pick MCW, might as well just do this trade and pick him #1. Only way to make it worse.

No kidding. There is a lot being thrown around that should be taken with a salt block.

Going back and reading this comment from 3 PM... It's crazy how unpredictable tonight was.
