At a Europe show summer 1997, and again at several US shows in Fall 1998, he was reported to have damarcated a square on the floor with yellow/orange tape and attempting to strike fear into those around that they should not enter "his" box.
Truth. BUT according to him and his friends, the band gave him permission to do so because he was their drug mule all through out the 97 european tours.

from my experience, him and all his friends are trusties and they use that money to push weight on tour.
prime example, his friend that is my friends friend, used to fly to Amsterdam before tours buy x for a few cents a pill and then sell it on tour. this was in the late 90s, but he would fund his whole tour that way. im talking thousands of pills, they would smuggle back or ship back.

Yeah my guess was some sort of combination of trusty/dealer.
I've really been digging the Little Feat "Easy to Slip" cover they played on Friday. Obviously Phish always loved Little Feat as they would play "Time Loves A Hero" during their infant stage as a band in the '80s but since covering Waiting for Columbus during Halloween 2010 you can really hear their influence across the board.

Greg can be a complete a-hole, but he's not that bad of a guy. I've known him for a long time and we chat when we see each other, but I don't care to hang with him at shows or outside anymore.
